We promise to listen to your requirements and respond them quickly. You won’t catch us saying “that’ll be ten days…” We listen to what you need in terms of time scales and we aim to deliver well in advance of your deadline.

We also answer our phones and our emails quickly. No passing from pillar to post, just fast service when you need it. If we are here, we are here for you.

Money

We admit it – we are not the cheapest you will find, but we think we are the best. We are fair in our pricing because we offer you a personalised service. This is something the online printing places just can’t provide. We are real people and we fully understand budgets.

We will also take into account the size of your order – order big and see big savings.

Payment Methods

We accept all debit and credit cards, both in person and over the phone. Visa, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Maestro, Solo, Mastercard and American Express. We also accept BACS transfer payments. We do not accept cheques.

If you are a Limited Company, a Local Authority or a Large Organisation, contact us for details of our Credit Account terms.

Any queries about VAT, invoices or payments call 020 3818 5750 or email info@thelondonprinters.co.uk and we will resolve any issues you may have.

Since we sell to businesses, all our prices exclude VAT. Wherever possible we will try to advertise both prices. We will add VAT to your order at the current rate.

Re-ordering

We keep your artwork in our archives for approximately 7 years, so if you need to re-order anything please give us a call on 020 3818 5750 or send us an email to info@thelondonprinters.co.uk.

We will usually add a “Time to reorder” slip into the bottom part of your pile of printing so that you get a little reminder that it is time to get in touch. If you don’t see this – just give us a call and we will get your re-order out to you in no time.

Paper Options

We keep a range of the most commonly used cards & papers, including Edixion and GF Smith.

Paper stock ranges from 60gsm to 160gsm and comes in a range of different shades and textures. A whiter shade of pale is advised for most full colour jobs as coloured stock shades can affect full colour output.

Card stock ranges from 160gsm for thin card all the way up to 400gsm for a thick invitation.

Should your needs fall outside of this range, we can either order what you want from our supplier, or in some cases you are free to supply your own stock, subject to certain conditions. Call us to chat about this.

Print Process

The method of printing you want to use will have some effect on the overall result of your project and we offer three services as part of the printing process. Lithography, Digital or Bespoke.

Lithography is a more traditional method using metal plates , Pantone inks, powder and water. Using the highest quality Heidelberg Presses your prints will have a classical feel with a professional look used by only the best! It can be more expensive but is often regarded as being the most effective form of printing.

Digital presses have mostly replaced lithography as it is a cheaper and faster method of printing. In addition they also use less ink and other materials and have a shorter set-up time, making this method more suitable for shorter printing runs. Our presses are Xerox and HP Indigo. For most people, it is difficult to tell the difference between digital and lithographic printing. 

Bespoke services will depend entirely on your needs. This can include embossing, thermographics, double mounts, metallic foil, die-cutting and even UV varnish. We can work with you to decide what would work best for your project.

We will help you to decide on the best method for your needs and your budget. This can depend on the turn around time, the number of copies needed, the quality you want and the type of file you supplied us with. In most cases we will make this decision for you, based on our professional experience.

Business Orders

We offer very healthy Business Packages for those Entrepreneurial folk out there. Starting up or running your own business can be a costly affair, so we can put together a Package of Printed Items (Letterheads, Business Cards, Invoices, Envelopes, Presentation Folders, Brochures and plenty more) that can help your business grow.

We will trim the costs where we can, because we realise that if you grow and grow, then hopefully we can hang onto your coat-tails!

Student Orders

We welcome all students, as we know what you are going through…we understand the difficulties you encounter in your studying, and we know the last thing you need is a stressful deadline-based printer jam up!

We want you to focus on your document and not have the worry of a deadline that cannot be reached because of a printer that runs out of ink or a paper problem. We understand all-nighters and are happy to do it on your behalf.

Events Orders

We offer very attractive Packages for those in the process of ordering a range of Stationery whilst setting up an Event… We know that you’ll need Leaflets, Brochures, Business Cards, Price Lists, Catalogues, Posters, Stand Up Banners, Order Forms, Notepads and more.

So we have put together an excellent Package for you to keep those costs down and your stress at manageable levels!

Turnaround & Delivery

As soon as we know when you need your printing ready, that becomes our focus…we will make sure that your job is ready in time to ensure your day runs as smoothly as possible and that you are as de-stressed as you can be.

You can come and collect your job from our office in New Cavendish Street or should you prefer it, we can deliver your job to your doorstep.

Artwork Guidelines

We accept files saved using one of the following software:

Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

For the Adobe packages please save all files with the outlined fonts.

Files created in one of the Microsoft packages usually get better results if they’re saved as pdfs.

To help as many people as possible, The London Printers accepts a range of different formats. These are: JPEG, PNG, PDF.

For the photography artwork we would recommend high resolution JPEGs (preferably un-compressed).

For Graphics or Text files please save it as print-ready, vector based PDF.

For a mix of graphics and photography artwork the best solution would be print-ready PDFs.

Make sure you save all images in 4 colour ink process (CMYK). Please be aware that screen colours (RGB) may appear duller or lacking in contrast when printed.

The usual bleed requirement is 2mm all round.
